My first Days as a Marketing Consultant
My first days were spent in the head office of 4P square. Managing Consultants Sylvie Schiltz and Pascal Van Glabeke went to work to find me an exciting marketing project.
In the meanwhile I was able to feel the atmosphere and get acquainted with the colleagues.
Nadia Wauters, HR Manager, did her utmost to make me feel at home and to get me up to speed. Contracts, regulations, and all other kinds of administration. Nadia walked me through it all.
Tom Sweetlove, responsible for the marketing of 4P square, put me to work. Writing and formatting the monthly 4P newsletter in MailChimp.
Pushing the yearly marketing survey results on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter. And writing SEO-friendly copy for the website. I wasn’t on a project just yet, but I wasn’t twiddling my thumbs either.
Michel Collart explained me the career opportunities within 4P square, walked me through the bonus system, and gently pointed me in the direction of the event committee.
My fellow consultants I met during my first monthly 4P square café. A warm group of fun colleagues!
Jolien Joris joined me for a while when she was in between projects. Good to have her around and go for lunch at the best tapas restaurant Mechelen has to offer.
New hire Jasper Van Beurden also joined, but only for a day as he was immediately put on a project at Colruyt.
Raf Van Puyvelde involved me in all his external meetings, and invited me for lunch to discuss his vision for 4P square in some more detail over pizza.
Getting to know everyone made these two weeks fly by. And before I knew it I was sitting next to managing consultant Sylvie, and across from the marketing director of Alken-Maes. A great company for which I now work for as a Consumer Market Intelligence analyst.
The support from Sylvie wasn’t just great before I started at Alken-Maes. It still is. Regularly Sylvie checks in with my manager and myself to find out how it’s going.
Together with the regular 4P square cafés, masterclasses, and casual get-togethers, this support gives me the feeling that I work for the marketing consulting firm 4P square, and not just for best beer company in Belgium.
