Emma | Marketing consultant | 4P square
Hi, I’m Emma, one of the latest members of the 4P square team. I’ve joined the squad only a couple of weeks ago and I can tell you that it has been a crazy ride so far.
Kicking off your career in times of corona is weird and surreal. But I’m a positive soul and I’m sure that this whole experience will also teach me a lot of things. It’s not always easy, but as the saying goes “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”, right?
My skills
The web is full of opportunities and I will keep on online learning until we can go back to normal. Which hopefully will be very soon.
Meanwhile, I’m immediately available for new challenges in marketing & communications. I’m eager to support your team in these difficult times. I can help your team with:
- social media
- digital campaigns
- copywriting (English/Dutch)
- digital project management
- … or marcom challenges you might have!
Freshly graduated but not a rookie
I’ve only graduated in January 2020, so I’m a real fresh graduate. I’ve studied for almost seven years and I’ve to admit that during my last year I was getting really bored of the whole student life thing.
After obtaining my bachelor’s in Communication Management, I pursued a master’s in Multilingual Communication and Business Economics. Studying can be really fun, but of course there are limits. At a certain point, you just want to get rid of those course books and put all that knowledge into practice.
It goes without saying that signing my contract at 4P square was a euphoric moment!
Despite the fact that I’ve only left college a few months ago, I’m not a rookie. Over the past couple of years I did a lot of internships and student jobs, in which I got the opportunity to gain tremendous experience in the field of marketing.
I operated in both national and international environments and in several different industries. My most memorable experience so far was my marketing/communication internship at Finlay and Co in London. Some other organizations that I’ve worked for are O.P.I Belgium, The Fulbright Commission, Qollabi and the KU Leuven.
A little obsessed with the USA
I’m a very dedicated and hard-working person, but I also realize that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy… That is why from time to time you have to escape for a little while.
For me there’s no better place to do this than in the United States of America. I just LOVE this country and I’ve to admit that I’m kind of obsessed with it. I’ve had the privilege of visiting about fifteen states so far. Unfortunately for my wallet there are fifty in total.
Its people, the food, the music, the history, the breathtaking landscapes, … I can easily give you a hundred reasons why I’m so in love with travelling this place. So, if you’d ever get an automatic “out of office” reply from my side, I’m probably living my best life on the other side of the world.
Never stop learning
While writing this story about myself, I’m sitting on my crappy desk chair at home.
Because of the crisis, most of the projects I was working on have been postponed, which has led to me becoming technically unemployed.
I’m not taking this as an excuse to watch Netflix all day while eating the whole fridge (which – I agree – could also be fun). On the contrary, I’m trying to stay focused and to keep on improving my marketing skills and training myself.
Yesterday I’ve obtained an online certificate in digital marketing and tomorrow I’ll start a course in Google Analytics.
